Course Overview

The collective problems we face involve collective solutions. This course is designed for activists, organizers, and teams who want to move beyond entrenched conflicts and power dynamics. You will learn to cultivate ‘Transformative Collaboration’—a way of working together that fosters social impact while enabling individuals to flourish.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify and navigate the Four Fields of Attention: Socio-political, Organizational, Interpersonal, and Personal.
  • Recognize the obstacles of ‘Othering’ and ‘Self-Perpetuation’ in group dynamics.
  • Apply the principle of ‘Going for the Good of the Whole.’
  • Balance the creative tensions between Autonomy and Cooperation.
  • Implement the Task-Process-Relationship model in your own organization.

Course Structure

The course is organized into 5 Modules:

  1. Foundations: The 5 reasons to collaborate and the 4 fields of attention.
  2. The Ideals: Understanding Free Association and Interconnectedness.
  3. The Obstacles: How ‘The Group’ and ‘The Individualist’ hinder progress.
  4. Creative Tensions: Learning to optimize (not maximize) group health.
  5. Conditions & Practices: Practical tools for long-term group success.
